* production of fine-cut tobacco and assembling thereof in consumer packages
* wholesale of tobacco products

Tobacco Manufacturing Plant limited liability company means tradition and modernity. The company is seated in Krasnystaw at Leśna 2 Street. It was established in 1951 as the first industrial plant in Krasnystaw district. At that time it functioned as
a constituent of Lubelska Wytwórnia Tytoniu Przemysłowego (Lublin Tobacco Manufacturing Company).

Since 1995 the Company functioned as a branch of Zakłady Tytoniowe in Lublin S. A., whereas since January 2000 it operates as an independent entity.

The first machine park comprised three fermentation chambers, hydraulic press and hoppers for sorting tobacco. As the company developed, production line was gradually equipped with new devices, among others with pneumatic leaf conveyor, conditioning chambers, cut-off machines and in 1961 – breaking machines installed in Krasnystaw as the first in Poland. Today we are able to meet the requirements of even the most demanding customers owing to our modern production line.

Industrial tobacco – company’s product – has over 50 years of tradition. The first tobacco campaign was started at the turn of 1951 and 1952. In the 80’s the company noted the highest output in its history, which amounted to 12.000 tons. It might be worth to remember that at that time there were about 100.000 tons of tobacco leaves produced in Poland.

Within the last 5 years the amount of tobacco processed in Poland has fallen to the level of 26.000 tons, and to 7.000 annually in the Lublin region.

We believe that the undoubted regress in the activity of cigarette or tobacco manufacturing companies, warehouses and traders selling cigarettes as well as tobacco growers was mainly caused by:

* customs policy on the imported tobaccos (favourable change occurred only in October 2002)
* state excise policy
* smuggling and cigarette sale without paying Polish taxes and without excise duty stamp

In the 50’s, only in Lubelskie Voivodship there were 3500 tobacco growers farming the area of 1500 ha. In the 90’s the number increased to 40.000 farmers across Poland. At present, it has decreased to 15.000 growers farming the area of 13.000 ha.
